Fragrant-Yak-3709. •. i own the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. The KTM is very dirt oriented and not as comfortable as the Tiger. The KTM is more nimble due to it's low tank design. Making it easier to handle in off-road conditions. The Tiger's weight is up high making it more difficult in slow technical terrain.
Die beiden Reiseenduros von KTM die KTM 1190 Adventure und KTM 1190 Adventure R im 1000PS Vergleichstest. Die "R" ist im Gelände tatsächlich besser die Adve Firstly, I know KLR’s price puts it in a category on its own, and that’s no small detail to overlook. Yet, there’s a lot you get for another $3k-$4k. Yes, again that’s 50% of the total cost of a KLR, and I’m comparing apples to oranges in a way. The 2019 KTM is $1500 off at a dealer by me, down to $12k (Canadian).
790 S vs 790 R vs 790 R Rally. This lists all the differences between the R, the S and the R Rally. All the rest is strictly identical. The R Rally is a limited edition, with 500 units. So far the 2019 and the 2020 models seems identical (Rally is 2020 only). A careful look at the 2019 and 2020 parts number does show some changes however, all
Best Value: KTM 790 Adventure & Adventure R. Price: £9799 (Adventure R is £10,999) Year: 2019 . Power: 94bhp @ 8000rpm. Torque: 66 lb/ft @ 6600rpm. Pros: lively, energetic engine, big tank range, confident handling, great off-road chops, new low price. Cons: suspect durability and a slightly budget, plasticky finish
I think the 390 ADV compares well to the CB500X. The 390 is lighter and more nimble in feel (and lbs). Power is similar - maybe the CB500X has slightly more power. The 390 has a much higher rev ceiling to make up for it. The Hondas low end torque is weak IMO, as the 390 could be considered weak too. Quinn Cody, a decorated off-road racer turned KTM R&D rider, provided input on the suspension and handling of the 390 Adventure, which resulted in WP Apex suspension that exceeds expectations. I went from a KLR to a KTM 690r enduro and OMG!!! Since then it has been all KTMs. 690 to 500 to 1290 SAR to 790r. All have been great and even the 1290 SAR was better off road than the KLR. The 790 is still a heavy bike but carries the weight low and has good suspension so feels way way lighter than it is off road.
Personally, I’d wait to see if KTM came out with a 2022. The 790 will be way cheaper then if you can find one. For people with 890s, I seem to remember that the options for turning ABS and/or TC were different?

Yes, I used the Hyperpro lowering spring kit (sold through Touratech) last season. I would say it lowered the bike very close to the stated 30mm. My bike is the R model. With the preload set near minimum on the shock, the bike had very good cornering manners. Initially I did not shorten the kickstand but did so late summer.

Looking to give into motos and purchase a new 390 Adventure, as my first ever bike. When I spoke with the local leader he said that the new 2022 will be available this month. So is the upgrade worth it? Price difference is like $1k when compared to 2021. Can't to hear you through on this and your experience using this bike.
Right now the only advantage of the 1290 Super Adventure S is the price and the fact I could swap the full Arrow exhaust, the handguards, some other parts in carbon I have on the 1090. And the fact I also own a 2011 Ducati Diavel and I wouldn't want it would "overlap" with the duke, don't know if it makes sense at all.. There's a clue to the differences in KTM's own words: "With the new 1190 Adventure and R there is a more definite distinction between the two models than with the 990 Adventure. The R is definitely the bike for those who really will stray from the beaten path, fit some off-road tyres and go exploring - the bike is designed to do just that. The KTM 790 Adventure R stands taller than the standard model thanks to its 9.4 inches of suspension travel. This bike has several accessories mounted as well as non-OEM Continental TKC80 tires. MSR on the 790 adventure is tied to the rear ABS. MSR is only on on if he ABS is ABS fully on. MSR is disabled in ABS offroad mode, and when the ABS is completely off. There is a message on the display when switching away from full ABS saying “MSR is off”. Now you know what this message means. .
