I have a used 2009 Citroen C5 tourer. Whilst on the motorway yesterday the windscreen wiper cut out and will not restart - it goes up about an inch then retracts. I have looked around and it appears there was a recall on this relevant to my car's VIN number. However, when I called the Citroen dealership they have said there is no such recall.
Lift it right up and MF8 is underneath. There is a small fuse 8 on the top. This is not the one you need to check. The supply comes from the battery to fuse MF8 and then to the pump motor. If the supply is missing then the most likely thing is that this fuse has blown. Otherwise there could be an open circuit.
You cant exclude basic stuff like RPM gauge, rear wiper( even as option, now corrected), climate control( higher trims) , electric ORVMs . Citroen is not Maruti to get away with it. When you are establishing yourself, you dont have much leeway. If pure engineering were to sell, then every 10th car in India would be a Jeep Compass.
Before removing may be useful to mark the arm positions on the top of the spindles. Normally would mark the wiper position on the windscreen but yours are not parked correctly. - the scuttle needs to be lifted over the wiper arm spindles and then slid down off the bottom of the windscreen.
On affected vehicles an internal nonconformity in the drivers side windscreen wiper motor may lead over time to the failure of the windscreen wiper mechanism. How to check if the vehicle is recalled. Contact the local CITROEN dealership or manufacturer. You will not need to pay for anything involving the recall.

Check the attaching nut for the wiper arm itself. The nut may be loose and the motor is just spinning in the arm. If it is, clean out the grooves in the arm before you re-tighten the arm on again.
